Digital Leaders

Within our school, Key Stage 2 children (Year 3-6) were nominated by their peers for the role of Digital Leader, who monitor the use of technology and platforms in our school. They are pupils who, not only show a particular interest and enthusiasm for technology, but are personable, approachable and respectful to raise the profile of online safety. As a team, we are responsible for meeting once a half term to help staff in their class get computing equipment ready and organised (charging laptops and devices); trialling new apps, websites and programs to enhance learning; helping to produce and deliver assemblies about online safety and acceptable use of equipment, devices and programs (games). Digital Leaders actively help increase awareness through displays and gathering pupil voice.

The group organise and judge Computing related competitions, assist the organising of Safer Internet Day and promoting online safety and safer internet use. Children practice their use of oracy skills in presenting their findings back to the school’s DSL/ Head Teacher and Computing curriculum lead.
