  • Community Art Project

    Tue 31 Mar 2015
We had a fabulous day with children, parents, grandparents and friends from the community creating amazing artwork for Longbenton Metro Station.  The artwork is going to be scanned to create large panels which will be used to brighten up the boards in the station.  We are really thrilled that Nexus have chosen Balliol .  It will be lovely for those who participated to see their work on public display for a long period of time.  Watch this space for further details and the date when the finished panels go on display. Exciting stuff!!!
  • Dukeshouse Wood Adventure

    Sun 29 Mar 2015
Phew!  33 very tired, happy people returned from a fabulous weekend at Dukeshouse Wood  near Hexham today.  Thirty excited children were accompanied by Mrs Downes, Mrs Whitehead and Mr Longstaff.  All the children were brave, resilient, smart and worked really collaboratively. The staff saw so many new talents and skills and were , at times, "blown away" by the determination and tenacity of Balliol children.  Every single child did something amazing.  We saw some astonishing climbing with children balancing on beams over 50 feet high, incredible problem solving and a healthy competitive spirit.  Hmmm - need to start planning for next year!

  • Northtyneside Vocal Celebration

    Mon 23 Mar 2015
Balliol Choir along with Miss O Sullivan, Mrs Whitehead and Mrs Downes had a wonderful evening at Whitley Bay Playhouse. The choir's performance was amazing and we are incredibly proud of them. They were so confident, professional and most importantly their singing was just beautiful. Our soloists Megan and Patricia sang like professionals infront of a masssive audience. We were so pleased to have lots of parents, grandparents and siblings at the show to support us. A great night.
